Description
FIRST ORBIT! is a spaceflight sim made to help teach astrodynamics in an interactive and visual way. Take control of your rocket and explore the world of spaceflight, no math required. Fly trajectories used by actual NASA missions and explore aerospace concepts such as Hohmann transfers, Lagrange points, and more.
History
FIRST ORBIT! began as a small personal project in February 2023. I had always wanted to make a spaceflight sim, and that month I decided I finally had the skillset to do so. I wanted to create an educational tool for aerospace students and professors, one that would also be accessible for anyone interested in learning about spaceflight. I wanted a fun way for people to visually see trajectories, interact with them, and really "get behind the wheel" to learn how spaceflight works. FIRST ORBIT! was released on October 20, 2023.
